Hon'ble Speaker of the legislative assembly of India Sumitra Mahajan's 75th Birthday celebrated in parmarth niketan, rishikesh

 Speaker of Indian legislative assembly Sumitra Mahajan concludes her three days stay at parmarth niketan on the bank of Ganga .

Her 75th Birthday was celebrated in a simple and green way, she planted a sacred Rudraksha sapling in the divine presence and with the blessings of HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji (Pujya Swamiji) at Parmarth Niketan.

The sapling was the first of 75 Rudraksha plants that will be planted in a Rudraksha Saaman Van (a small forest of Rudraksha saplings in her honour), as conceived and announced by Pujya Swamiji during the Ganga Aarti ceremony yesterday evening, by the Parmarth Rishikumars during the upcoming monsoon season.

As she planted the sapling with a ever present smile on her face and she shared her great appreciation for the simple and divine way in which her birthday had been celebrated at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh). She shared how much she had enjoyed and learned from her time at Parmarth and how she felt not as if she was 75 years old but rather that she was 75 years young.

"It's a great message when one of the most powerful women leaders of our nation decides to spend her birthday not with a grand party but rather in a simple and green way. By choosing the sacred banks of Mother Ganga, she is sending the message that our sacred rivers and our environment is the best way to celebrate every occasion of our life. Today her green birthday is an inspiration to everyone to lead a cleaner, greener and more peaceful life, one that treads lightly on our planet, reducing our carbon and water footprint. A life that is much like the tree and Nature, being of the greatest benefit to others. Hence, in celebration of her beautiful example we are planting this Rudraksha sapling as a affirmation of our pledge to plant 75 trees in the Rudraksha Samman Van (a small forest of Rudraksha saplings in her honour) which will be planted during the upcoming monsoon season." said HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, President of Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh), Co-Founder of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Founder of the Ganga Action Parivar during the plantation ceremony of the first sapling for the Rudraksha Saaman Van.

She performed the divine Ganga Aarti ceremony both nights of her stay at the ashram. Pujya Swamiji who lead the world-renowned evening ceremony on her birthday announced the plantation of 75 trees in honour of her birthday and encouraged everyone to plant as many trees as the number of birth years or anniversary years we celebrate. This would be our significant and vital contribution towards environmental preservation and protection. Joining the special Ganga Aarti and wishing her on her birthday was Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and current MLA of Haridwar Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank," Sadhvi Abha Saraswatiji of Parmarth Niketan and Sumitraji's childhood friend Sudha Yalavatti.

On her birthday, she participated and was blessed by Pujya Swami Govind Giriji during his divine Bhagawad Katha taking place at Parmarth Niketan and was also blessed by the special visit of Pujya Sadhvi Rithambaraji for the Katha. The Shrimad Bhagawat Katha is being dedicated, with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji's divine vision and blessings, to support the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation's schools and spread the message of "Siksha Aur Sanskaras" (Education & Human Values) being imparted to our children simultaneously.

Sumitra Mahajanji expressed that her birthday celebrations were truly memorable and divine. She said that it was not only a one evening or night celebration but rather the whole day and every moment was a celebration, revealing ways that she was able to be of greater service and inspiration to others.
