Dehradun:
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has sought
help in the integrated development in the rural areas of the state in the field
of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and milk production from
representatives of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry
(FICCI).
The Chief Minister also sought cooperation from FICCI
members in encouraging organic agricultural products since there is great
demand of organic products of Uttarakhand outside the state. He said that the
state government has been implementing many projects in this
direction. The women self-help groups are being strengthening to
ensure their participation in rural development.
The Chief Minister also asked the members of FICCI that besides
help in agriculture, horticulture and milk production, they should work for
women empowerment and hold meetings with secretaries of the concerned
departments and put forward proposals. The members of FICCI alongwith Sadhvai
Bhagwati of Parmarath Niketan presented a sapling of ‘Rudraksh’ plant and books
on the occasion.
Nirankar Saxena, Deputy General Secretary of FICCI
informed the Chief Minister that as per the goals of Uttarakhand Rural
Livelihood Mission, Uttarakhand has to be developed as a destination of herbal
medicinal plants besides encouraging livelihood opportunities, developing
entrepreneurship, creating employment and cleaning Ganga river. The
support of FICCI, Parmararth Niketan and Ganga River institute will be taken in
this endeavor.
The adviser to Chief Minister Naveen Baluni, Principal
Secretary Rural Development Manisha Panwar, Secretary, CM Radhika Jha,
Secretary Skill development Dr Pankaj Pandey, Director, Industry Sudhir
Nautiyal, Mukesh Sakuja, Anil Sinha and T. Murlidharan of FICCI were present on
the occasion.
